John DeFerraro is the Director of Choral Activities at Scott County High School in Georgetown, KY. Under his direction, choirs consistently earn State Distinguished Ratings with Sweepstakes honors, and regularly collaborate with other artists, such as the African Children’s Choir, the Cincinnati Wind Band, and Point of Grace. John is continually active as a clinician, guest conductor, elected official, and adjudicator. He currently serves as the Kentucky ACDA R&R Chair for Contemporary A Cappella, with previous service with ACDA as the Southern Division R&R Chair for Contemporary A Cappella, and three terms for KMEA as a member of the State Choral Council. In 2018, he was selected as a Premiere National Choral Conductor by Music For All, under the artistic direction of Henry Leck, Joseph Flummerfelt, and Rollo Dilworth.

In a cappella, John served for nine years on the Board of Directors for the A Cappella Education Association as the National Treasurer, with additional service as an event producer and the Choral Festival coordinator for the National A Cappella Convention. He regularly works as an event producer and consultant, with previous service on the administrative team of Deke Sharon and Brody McDonald's Camp A Cappella. He is an annual judge for Varsity Vocals and the Contemporary A Cappella Society's CARA Awards, and is a proud alumnus of the University of Kentucky acoUstiKats.
