Armonia Acappella from Dobyns-Bennett HS , Kingsport Tennessee, began in the fall of 2013 with a group of 12 students who wanted to start a band that sounded like Pentatonix. Eight rehearsals later, Armonia made their first debut on stage at the Kettering Acappella Festival in Ohio. From there it was Aca Fever all the way! The unique Armonia style gained popularity in the community where they sang for business openings, hospital fundraisers, elementary and middle school PTA programs, Cure for Cancer Walks, Youth Leadership programs and more. In the fall of 2015, DBHS added a credited CONTEMPORARY ACAPPELLA CREDITED CLASS to their school choral curriculum. Armonia has helped other schools start A Cappella programs by performing and holding auditions on their campus. Festivals and awards include: Kettering Acappella Festival Kettering Ohio (2013,2014); Voices in Harmony, Lexington Kentucky (2013-2014-2016); Arts Advocacy Day, Nashville, TN (2014); Opening act for ETSU Greyscale Acappella Group (2015); TSBA Annual Convention (2015); Awards: Best Female Vocalist/Voices in Harmony.
